Pieve di Collecchio
Parco dei Boschi di Carrega
Pieve di Talignano
“The wood of Pievi” is the itinerary that, between a parish church and another, plunges into a majestic secular wood that preserves elegant historical buildings. We start from the Pieve di Collecchio, dedicated to San Prospero, which contains a particularly decorated baptismal font.
Then we enter the forest of the Carrega Woods Park, characterized by chestnut trees and centuries-old oaks, until we reach the Pieve di Talignano.
The latter, dedicated to San Biagio, stands out for its typically Romanesque appearance and for its gabled façade. The lunette above the portal, in which a psychostasis (the weighing of souls) is represented, is particular.
ADVICES
To fully enjoy this itinerary, we recommend cycling (the only quiet route in the woods) or walking along the paths dedicated to trekking.
