The Parish Church of San Quirico is located in the municipality of Trecasali in the Parma lowlands. The parish church is one of the oldest in the province, being already mentioned in 1005 in a document with “Gregorius sancti Quirici Archipresbyter”.

The building as we see it today is the result of a reconstruction in 1686, which took place after a flood of the river Taro that destroyed much of the ancient walls. The reconstruction of the building also changed the orientation of the facade, now facing the road, while the remains of the original facade are visible in the apse area.

The parish church has a layout with three naves, each consisting of three bays and a flat walled apse, with a chapel on each side in correspondence to the second bay. In the south one, with a rectangular and shallow plan, there is a baptismal font. At the end of the north aisle, there is the altar of St. Joseph and at the end of the south aisle, there is the altar of the Mysteries of the Rosary.

Inside the bays are marked by pilasters surmounted by double capitals, which form a whole with the cornice. The church is dedicated to Saints Quirico and Giulitta. The two Saints are much venerated in the territory of Parma, in fact is also dedicated to them a parish church in Albareto di Borgotaro. The cult of the two saints spread in the area thanks to Sant’Amatore, bishop of Auxerre, who, passing through Torrile, brought the relics of the two saints from France.
