The Pieve di Corniglio is located in the centre of the village and the first evidence of it dates back to November 1141 in a bull of Pope Innocent II. It has no churchyard, representing a type of parish church located in the center of the town, which over time has constantly expanded around it.

The building has a hall with a presbytery and two side chapels on each side. The covering vaults are barrel vaults with transverse arches on the hall, sail vaults on the presbytery and nailed barrel vaults on the side chapels. To the east of the presbytery is the bell tower, while on the north side is located the rectory.

The facade is wide and not very slender. The façade is tripartite vertically, starting from the bottom, by two orders of pilasters in Doric style and a last one in Corinthian style. The whole is concluded by a triangular tympanum with a central eye, probably added in 1881. Horizontally the pilasters identify five sectors.

Inside the building there is a large central hall along which there are four side chapels, two on each side. In the space between the two side chapels there are two small confessional rooms. The presbytery is recessed from the nave, raised and covered with vaulted ceilings and a central transverse arch.

The church is dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
