As evidenced by the plaque on the facade, the present Pieve di Carignano was built in 1741. The original parish church was, instead, much older, so much so that it is mentioned in a document dating back to 1005.

Today, the church has a very moving façade in Baroque style, divided horizontally into two bands and enriched by four niches, in which there are four statues depicting the Evangelists. The bell tower has a square plan, with a belfry opened by a mullioned window on each side and, to crown it, a hexagonal tiburium, made in the early twentieth century.

The interior has a single nave, ending in a polygonal apse; on each side there are three chapels.
