Traversetolo, located in the foothills of the area between the Enza and Parma rivers, is about 170 meters above sea level.

Traversetolo, despite being only 20 kilometres from the city of Parma, is situated in a rather quiet area, between the plain and the first hills that then extend south into the territory of Neviano degli Arduini.

It is considered to be the town that hosts the largest market in Emilia Romagna. A tradition that began in 1449, and that every Sunday welcomes many visitors. The peak is reached during the three annual fairs: the Spring Fair (May), the September Fair and the St. Martin’s Fair (November) where the town’s patron saint is celebrated.

Traversetolo, land of artists and poets, is home to the Renato Brozzi Museum. The artist has left unmistakable signs: hundreds of works are preserved here, including painting, sculpture, applied arts and plaster casts, in addition to the many works commissioned by the supreme vate D’Annunzio.

The Municipality of Traversetolo has been engaged for several years in the promotion and implementation of projects aimed at an overall reduction in the consumption of natural resources by its community, in the belief that improving the quality of life is not simply a slogan, but a concrete possibility.
