The diocese includes about two thirds of the province of Parma. It borders to the south with the diocese of Massa Carrara-Pontremoli, to the west with the dioceses of Piacenza-Bobbio and Fidenza, to the north with the diocese of Cremona and to the east with that of Reggio Emilia-Guastalla. The territory is divided into 308 parishes, grouped into 56 pastoral units called New Parishes.
It is run by Bishop Enrico Solmi.
