The municipal territory extends on the right bank of the Parma stream, in correspondence with the first Apennine reliefs. Only the north-western part, between the capital, the hamlet of Santa Maria del Piano and Parma, is flat, while the rest of the territory, washed by the rivers Termina and Masdone, is hilly; due to the washing away of rainwater and the nature of the land, gullies are widespread. From June 9, 2015 part of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, including the municipality of Lesignano de ‘Bagni, is part of the reserves of the UNESCO biosphere.
