It is located in the eastern part of the lower Parma, is part of the Union Lower East Parmesan, is crossed by the river Lorno, from which it takes its name. The Doge’s Palace is home to ALMA, the International School of Italian Cuisine, the confraternity of Tortél Dóls, whose aim is to keep alive the cultural-gastronomic tradition of the typical areas of the Parma lowlands and in particular of Tortéj Dóls, tortelli with a sweet-and-sour filling whose recipe has been handed down since the times of the Duchess Maria Luigia of Austria.
