ITINERARY
2,5 h approx.
Pieve di San Geminiano
Pieve di Madregolo
Parco del Taro
Pieve di Noceto
The route “Crossing the River Taro” is proposed as an itinerary that accompanies along some churches on the eastern side of the River Taro to end on the opposite bank of the river. It starts from the Pieve di Vicofertile dedicated to San Geminiano and is well preserved in its appearance. We continue towards the Pieve di Madregolo, dedicated to San Martino, clothed in river stones and bricks before reaching the Taro River Park, guardian of a large migratory birdlife in a typical river landscape as it once was. After this naturalistic stop, we cross the shores of the Parma river to reach the nearby Pieve di Noceto, characterized by its precious crypt, which preserves the ancient baptismal font belonging to the original building.
ADVICES
We recommend stopping for lunch in the Castle of Noceto and then visit it and so appreciate the beauty, as well as the typical cuisine.
